Pytlewski Claims 10th in Canadian Amateur – Elmhurst Winnipeg
University of Colorado junior-to-be Dominique Pytlewski tied for 10th at the 2008 Royale Cup Canadian Women’s Amateur Championship on Friday at the Elmhurst Golf & Country Club in Winnipeg, Manitoba
Pytlewski opened the championship with back-to-back, even-par 72’s, and sat in fifth place after the first two rounds. After carding a six-over 78 in what proved to be a rough third round, Pytlewski rebounded on the final day with another even round score of 72. She finished at six-over par (294), good for a tie for 10th in the standings and was just four strokes out of the top-five.
“I was very happy and excited to see Domi finish in the top-10 in her national amateur championship,” said CU head women’s golf coach, Anne Kelly. “She made a nice comeback after a tough third round, proving once again that she is a tenacious competitor. I know she has been working hard on her game this summer and this finish should prove to her that she is capable of competing with some of the best players in women’s amateur golf.”
