Kenora “Ladies Open”

Sarah Stebeleski from the Transcona Golf Club in Manitoba may be a little more used to the wind than local entrants in the Kenora Ladies’ Open tournament. She didn’t let the conditions bother her in winning the July 13 event with an 83. The overall low net prize went to Lori Causyn of Kenora with a 69.

Lee Rock, one of seven entrants from Falcon Lake, Manitoba, won the first flight with a 94, while Harriet Blake of Kenora was second on a countback as she and Hildy Dyck of Falcon Lake had scores of 96. Low net went to Susan Horne of Kenora with a 75.

In the second flight, Sherry Reed-Walkiewicz of Kenora finished first overall with a 100. The low net winner was Marg Landry of Kenora with a 75.

Ginger Corbett of Kenora won the third flight after carding a score of 102. Joanne O’Hara of Kenora was first in the low net with a 72.

In the fourth flight, Shirley Sawchuk of Kenora captured low gross with a 109, while Darlene Kortz, also of Kenora, was low net with a 71.
