Canada’s top female amateur golfer for 2010 revealed

Jennifer Kirby was announced Canada’s top female amateur golfer for 2010 with counterpart Eugene Wong as the top male amateur golfer.
Jennifer Kirby, a 2010 Team Canada member and sophomore scholar at the University of Alabama, was a semifinalist at the U.S. Women’s Amateur Championship, a quarterfinalist at the British Ladies Amateur Championship and finished ninth individually at the Copa de las Americas.
The 19-year old finished 7th at the Royale Cup Canadian Women’s Amateur Championship and successfully defended her title at the Ontario Women’s Amateur Championship. She also competed at the 2010 CN Canadian Women’s Open at St. Charles Country Club and the U.S. Women’s Amateur Championship.
Rounding out the top-five in the women’s national rankings are Sara-Maude Juneau of Fossambault, Que., Christine Wong of Richmond, B.C., Jessica Wallace of , B.C. and Nicole Vandermade of Brantford, Ont.
Along with these achievements, she earns a full-ride scholarship at the University of Alabama and then cuts classes for a week so she can play and join tournaments.
